This piece was created for a themed exhibit at a local art gallery, Art Provides. The theme of the show was named Gearheads. Really not sure why I thought about entering because this isn't my normal style. Yet at the time I was experimenting with how to paint people so that might have influenced my decision.
For with gearhead, my immediate thought was a woman dressed in steampunk clothing. then I thought about drawing a car. Looking through endless photo trying to find good reference photos, my pick narrowed on a Mustang. Which then evolved to the Mustang horse and the piece was built from there.
Watercolors are fun to work with but I've never work on a piece this large before, 16x20. There's so many things in this piece that I love, and maybe some day I may revisit this style again.
This print has a luster finish and it'll add a touch of sophistication to any room.
This is a open print edition, meaning unlimited prints are available.
