A couple of days after my dear mother passed away, I was sitting on the back porch enjoying a cup of coffee, thinking about her. Since she had lived with us for several years after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's/dementia, my attention was drawn to the chair next to me, and I felt her presence. As we sat there, it felt like she wanted to go paint.
Creating this piece was a special experience, as I felt my mother's presence throughout most of it. After finishing it, the meaning became clear: the circular part of the dreamcatcher represents heaven, the river symbolizes the love flowing from heaven, and the three feathers represent my two sisters and me. We are still bonded to our mother, and she is constantly sending love and support to us.
The original piece of artwork was done with acrylic paint
