In the beginning, The Journey went through several names. It started as The Shaman’s Journey, then became The Healing Journey. Both names carried meaning, yet neither fully captured its essence when displayed. Only when it became The Journey did the title feel truly open, inviting viewers to connect with their own understanding of what a journey represents.

Creating The Journey, I envisioned a painting that embodies motion, balance, and harmony. Drawing on years in the healing arts, I wanted this piece to reflect those qualities in a way that felt meditative. The yin-yang colors, representing the interplay between light and darkness, illustrates balance and movement as each flows into the other. Angling these colors bring a sense of motion, as though light and dark are in a continuous, graceful dance.

Harmony in this piece emerges through the alignment of the body’s chakras, with each color and vibration echoing both emotional and physical balance. As the feathers flow from light into darkness and back again, they echo the balance and harmony of life itself, embodying the seamless transition from one state to another as we move forward on our personal journey.
