Glen Canyon Print

The cliffs have been standing for millions of years. The river has spent that time moving.

One appears permanent. The other never stays in the same place for long. Yet together, they tell the story of a landscape shaped by time.

Ancient cliffs hold layer upon layer of time, while stones beneath our feet have traveled, shifted, and waited through centuries of change. Standing beside the river, we are reminded of our own small place in that story. We arrive for only a moment, surrounded by things that existed long before us and will continue long after we are gone.

And still, perhaps being small doesn't mean being insignificant.

The river itself is proof that movement matters. It doesn't need to conquer the cliffs in a single moment. It simply continues, shaping the world one passing day at a time.

Maybe that's the perspective time gives us: we are here briefly, but every moment we continue moving becomes part of something larger than ourselves.
