Majestic Trail, Desert Vibe Series - Framed Canvas Print -

Since I normally don't use very much brush work in my paintings, this is a whole new style for me. I'd probably have to say I've been looking for a new style with a way I could use brushes for a while, probably for about a year and a half now.

I wanted something that I could use bold colors, stay a little on the out there side and since I get commission requests, be able to create something similar to those requests.

Even though, Desert Vibe was the first of this series, the colorful cacti in that piece inspired and brought me to this style. I thought to myself, if I were this colorful cacti where would I want to live? I believe this would be the perfect place to live.

Ma·jes·tic - /məˈjestik/  having or showing impressive beauty or dignity. Trail - /trāl/ a beaten path through rough country such as the desert or forest. A route planned or followed for a particular purpose.

When naming this piece, I struggled to express how it made me feel. I turned to the dictionary for help, hoping to find the right words. In hindsight, I probably should have named this piece, “The Journey Through Ahz.”

Often, we become so focused on our journey or staying on the right path that we forget to enjoy the "Ahz" in our lives. We push forward, intent on completing one task after another. By the time we pause to take in our surroundings, we realize we’ve strayed from the path entirely.
